"Creating flow states of optimal kinesthetic performance"
About Me
Hi, I'm Ryan Bell
I have Diplomas in Remedial Massage and Musculoskeletal Therapy from the Australasian Academy of Wellness Therapies. I also have a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Human Biology and Exercise and Sports Science) from Edith Cowan University, WA.
I am a member of Massage and Myotherapy Australia and undertake regular professional development to keep abreast of new techniques and research.
I specialise in the treatment, management and prevention of musculoskeletal dysfunction.
My treatment style is to assess the body as a whole, look at it’s function,
dysfunction, strengths and weaknesses and work together with you to manage your symptoms and issues.
My training has given me a thorough knowledge of the body and its
movement patterns, enabling me to provide comprehensive assessment and
treatment. On our first meeting I will do a thorough initial assessment to get to know you, assess your needs and develop a treatment plan.
Every session begins with a re-assessment to ensure you receive the best possible treatment outcome.
My philosophy is to educate you on self awareness and self management through posture, movement and stretches.
I am passionate about treating people and improving Musculoskeletal function. I am methodical and focused on the root cause of the problem not just the symptoms. I love helping people, seeing them happy, feeling better and moving freely.
Common issues that can be treated by massage are:
Overuse injuries pain or aching in muscles (generally the hips, back or shoulders)Symptoms caused by poor posture eg. sitting at a computer or manual work Sports injuries eg. Sprains/ strains
What makes me different?
My approach to treatment is holistic, patient centred and with your goals and needs in mind.
I have over 7 years of training and have been practising as a Remedial Massage Therapist since August 2016.
Whether I am seeing you for the first for tenth time, I always start my treatment with a quick assessment and a discussion with you about your treatment goals.
During the treatment, I work on releasing the fascia, trigger points and getting into the deep tissue layers.
I treat the underlying cause of problem as well as the source of pain as these are often in different parts of the body. I explain during my treatment what I am doing and how it effects your body with the aim to give you a better understanding of your own body.
I will often suggest behavioural changes that may be negatively affecting your body and prescribe specific exercises to help you manage your muscular pain or tightness yourself. All of this combined, I believe not only help you understand your body better but if you work collaboratively with me towards a healthier you- eventually you won’t need treatment and can manage on your own.
Musculoskeletal Therapy
Is a form of muscle treatment that is based on Bowen therapy.
I incorporate this as well as fascial release to give a quick and efficient release to tight areas.
Remedial Massage
Treating with massage wax and fisiocreme, the therapy consists of generally deep massage strokes and trigger points.
I generally prefer finer and more precise work that forceful pressure.
Prescribed Exercises
Part of my philosophy is to educate my clients. I recommend stretches for my clients to do between sessions to help loosen up the adhesions and fascial tension in the body.
